About

dave-with-cats

Hello. I'm Dave and I draw diagrams.

By diagrams I mean cartoons, really, but I like to do them with additional annotation.

People like visual things, and they like humour, so cartoons are quite a good way to communicate in the modern age.

Anyway, welcome to my blog, the main place where I post my latest work. I've been blogging since 2002, and a freelance cartoonist since 2005.

I live with my wife, who we'll call CW, in Langdon Hills, which is to the east of London. My specialist subjects are cycling cartoons and church cartoons, though I draw lots of other things too. 99% of my work is in black and white as I am inept at colouring-in on the computer.

I draw a weekly cartoon for the Church Times newspaper. Five books of these cartoons have been published.

I've spent much of 2016 working on a book of cycling cartoons, 'The Cycling Cartoonist', to be published by Bloomsbury in June 2017.

I take on commissions if I think l I will be able to do them really well. Please do get in touch if you think there might be something I can do to help you get your message across.

If you're interested in church cartoons my CartoonChurch.com site is the place to find lots of my cartoons. You can buy a licence at a highly-discounted rate to use the cartoons in your church publications too. Follow the CartoonChurch Facebook page too for regular updates.

If cycling cartoons are more your thing try CyclingCartoons.com. Once again it has a Facebook page where the latest updates are posted. I draw cycling cartoons for the action sports website Mpora, and I have done work for Cycling Weekly, CTC, and others.

The main places I write on the internet are here on my blog and on Twitter, so follow me in one of those places to keep up to date with what I'm up to.

Get blog posts by email:

If you'd like to get my cartoons by email then just put your email address in this box. You'll need to confirm the subscription via an email that will be sent to you, but all very straightforward. Click here if you don't see a box.
